Canada Strengthens Olympic Medal Hopes


Canada confirmed its status as an Olympic medal contender by securing a second straight victory, this time against Australia (93-83) in Villeneuve-d'Ascq. The Canadians took control of the tough Group A, virtually assuring their qualification for the quarterfinals. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and RJ Barrett led Canada's second-half surge, while Australia's Josh Giddey impressed in defeat.
