Bahrain stuns 10-man Australia

An own goal by Harry Souttar in the 89th minute gave Bahrain the unexpected victory 1-0 against Australia on the road to begin the third round of Asian qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
When Abdulla Al-Khalasi's shot was diverted into his own net by defender Souttar, the game on the Gold Coast appeared to be destined for a scoreless draw with the home team down to 10 men.
