Cap Verde Rewards Pina With Number One Award

Cape Verde has awarded Daniel Varela de Pina With the number one Sport Merit award in the country after he becomes the first Cape Verdean to win a Medal at the Olympic Games.

Pina won Bronze Medal after eliminating Zambia Patrick Chinyemba in the quarters-finals of the Men's 51kg Flyweight boxing event to reach the Semifinals.

He lost his Semifinal fight to Hasanboy Dusmatov of Uzbekistan but Pina has written his name as the first ever Cape Verdean to win a medal in the Olympic Games.
