Remo Stars have firmly established their dominance in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2024/2025 season, defeating Sunshine Stars 2-1 at the Dipo Dina Stadium. This victory not only keeps them unbeaten in the new year but also opens an impressive 8 and 10 points gap ahead of their closest rivals, Shooting Stars and Rivers United, respectively.

Shooting Stars faced a setback, managing only a 1-1 draw against Plateau United, while Rivers United`s title hopes took a hit with a 2-0 loss to Heartland FC. Coach Emmanuel Amunike`s Heartland FC celebrated a crucial win, intensifying the rivalry with Rivers United`s Coach Finidi George.

Nasarawa United climbed off the bottom of the league table, thanks to a remarkable double from Yusuf Anas against Niger Tornadoes, bringing his goal tally to 13 and placing him at the top of the goalscorers chart, ahead of Rabiu Ali of Kano Pillars.
