Ko wins Women's Open to end eight-year drought

A tight finish in windy circumstances at St Andrews saw Lydia Ko win the AIG Women's Open, capping an eight-year major drought.
The New Zealander, who took home the gold medal from the Olympics earlier this month, won her third major on seven under after closing with a three-under-par 69. She birdied the final hole.
Lilia Vu, the winner from the previous year, missed a 12-inch putt and then a 15-footer to send the match into a play-off, giving Ko a two-shot lead.
