Australia Dominates India in Women`s ODI

In the first one-day international (ODI) of the CommBank Women's ODI series, Australia secured a convincing victory over India at Allan Border Field in Brisbane. The match saw a stellar performance from Australian bowler Megan Schutt, who claimed her first five-wicket haul in ODIs, taking 5-19 and helping to restrict India to a mere 100 runs in 34.2 overs.

India's batting lineup struggled significantly, with Smriti Mandhana and Priya Punia failing to make an impact. Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian captain, was trapped lbw by Schutt for 17, and Jemimah Rodrigues managed only 23 runs before being bowled by Kim Garth. The Indian team crumbled, losing 6-11 in 8.1 overs to be dismissed for their second-lowest total.

Australia's response was led by debutant Georgia Voll, who top-scored with an unbeaten 46 from 42 balls. Voll, along with opener Phoebe Litchfield, who scored 35 off 29 deliveries, formed a crucial 48-run opening stand. Despite a brief wobble where Australia lost a few wickets, Voll remained composed and guided her team to a five-wicket victory in just 16.2 overs.

Key Performers:
- Megan Schutt: 5-19
- Georgia Voll: 46 (42 balls)
- Phoebe Litchfield: 35 (29 balls)
