Saracens edged Harlequins in a thrilling derby, while Gloucester-Hartpury topped the women`s league with a strong win.

Saracens secured a nail-biting 30-29 victory over Harlequins in a gripping London derby at The Stoop, although this win did not propel them into the quarter-finals of the Premiership Rugby Cup. Ealing Trailfinders advanced instead, while Gloucester emerged as the top second-placed team following their win against Exeter Chiefs. Leicester Tigers also made their mark, defeating Coventry to rank third among the best second-placed teams.

Tobias Elliott was the standout performer for Saracens, scoring two tries, while Max Eke and Jack Bracken also contributed to the scoreboard. Harlequins started strong with George Hammond`s early try, but Saracens quickly responded. Despite efforts from Stephan Lewies and Alex Dombrandt that kept Harlequins in the lead, Saracens` relentless pursuit saw them narrow the gap.

In the Premiership Women’s Rugby, Gloucester-Hartpury dominated Sale Sharks with a 41-24 victory, solidifying their position at the top of the league. Saracens clinched a playoff spot by overcoming Exeter Chiefs 21-12, with Sophie Bridger, May Campbell, and Poppy Cleall scoring before halftime. Leicester Tigers also showcased their prowess with a thrilling 45-43 win at Ealing Trailfinders, highlighted by a remarkable try from Francesca McGhie.
