The Victorian Football League (VFL) is gearing up for an exciting 2025 season, with practice matches already in full swing. The season will commence on March 22 and conclude with the grand final on September 21, featuring the same 21 teams as in 2024, each playing 18 matches over 21 rounds.

In a recent practice match, the Footscray Bulldogs showcased their strength by defeating Essendon with a score of 13.12 (9 to 11.4 (7 at Whitten Oval on February 15. This victory sets a competitive tone as teams prepare for the upcoming season.

Upcoming practice matches include a showdown between Sydney and GWS on February 21 at Tramway Oval, North Melbourne facing Collingwood at Arden St Oval, and Coburg taking on Carlton at RMIT Oval Bundoora, all on February 21. The reigning champions, Werribee, will be looking to defend their title in this highly anticipated season.
