Joseph Parker defeated Martin Bakole in two rounds, retaining his WBO Interim heavyweight title and eyeing future title opportunities.

Joseph Parker showcased his power this weekend in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, stopping late-replacement Martin Bakole in just two rounds to retain his WBO Interim heavyweight title. Originally set to face IBF champion Daniel Dubois, Parker`s plans shifted when Dubois withdrew due to illness. Bakole, who traveled over 4,000 miles and arrived just hours before the fight, stepped in as a last-minute opponent.

Despite his lack of preparation, Bakole came out aggressively, landing some solid punches on Parker. However, in the second round, Parker delivered a decisive overhand right that sent Bakole to the canvas. Trainer Billy Nelson assessed Bakole`s condition and chose to end the fight, securing Parker`s victory.

Post-fight, Parker acknowledged Bakole`s efforts, admitting that he felt the impact of Bakole`s punches. Looking ahead, Parker expressed his desire to challenge for a world title again, eyeing potential bouts against Usyk or Dubois. Meanwhile, Bakole plans to continue his career with an upcoming fight against Efe Ajagba in May.
