The NRL`s Las Vegas debut featured thrilling matches, with the Raiders and Jillaroos showcasing impressive victories.

The National Rugby League (NRL) kicked off its five-year commitment to Las Vegas with an electrifying opening weekend at Allegiant Stadium. The Canberra Raiders showcased their dominance by defeating the New Zealand Warriors 30-8, while the Penrith Panthers edged out the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks 28-22 in a thrilling night finale.

The week-long festivities included a fan fest at Fremont Street, attracting around 10,000 attendees, where teams made a grand entrance on the red carpet. In a remarkable display of skill, the Australian Jillaroos crushed England`s women`s national team 90-4, with Tamika Upton leading the charge by scoring five tries, while Julie Robinson and Jess Sergis each contributed with hat-tricks.

The event aimed to globalize rugby league and introduce it to an American audience, although the crowd primarily consisted of Australians, Kiwis, and Brits. Additionally, the Wigan Warriors took to the field in Las Vegas, securing a 48-24 victory over the Warrington Wolves in a Super League match.
