Van Persie named Heerenveen head coach

Robin van Persie, a former striker for Manchester United and Arsenal, has been named head coach of Heerenveen, a top-tier Dutch team.

The forty-year-old record men's goal scorer for the Netherlands has agreed to a two-year contract and will take up his first coaching position in the summer.

He has served as Feyenoord's assistant coach and has overseen the club's under-18 and under-19 teams since he retired from playing in 2019.
