Pickleball is surging in popularity across the United States, with the Association of Pickleball Players (APP) announcing an exciting 2025 tour schedule. This season marks the seventh year of elite competition, featuring 14 nationally televised events on major networks such as ESPN, CBS, and Fox Sports. The tour includes four Major tournaments and six USA Pickleball “Golden Ticket” events, providing players with a pathway to qualify for the prestigious 2025 USAP National Championships.

A highlight of the tour is the opening of The Fort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which boasts the world’s first dedicated pickleball stadium and serves as the home for the APP Academy. The 2025 APP Fort Lauderdale Open is set to be a key event, offering live coverage from The Players Court at The Fort.

As the sport continues to grow, particularly since the COVID-19 pandemic, there is an increasing demand for dedicated pickleball facilities. In Los Angeles, efforts are underway to convert existing tennis courts into pickleball courts, with around 20 already established. The city aims to create standalone pickleball facilities while accommodating the needs of the tennis community, highlighting the ongoing competition for court space between the two sports.
