Tiffin softball faced tough losses against Saginaw and Barry, struggling to capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Tiffin University`s softball team faced a challenging trip to Florida, suffering two narrow defeats. In their first game against Saginaw Valley State, Tiffin lost 2-0, managing only four hits. Aubrie Harper stood out with a double, while Lexi Key pitched five innings, allowing just one earned run. Isabella O`Brien followed with two innings of scoreless relief. Despite a late-game opportunity to tie, Tiffin`s hopes were dashed with a flyout, lineout, and fielder`s choice grounder.

In their second matchup against Barry, Tiffin initially tied the game at 2-2 after Baylee Mirgon scored on an error and Molly Koesters brought in Reagan Mengerink. However, Barry surged ahead, scoring four runs in the late innings to secure a 6-2 victory. Ella Esterby took the loss, striking out six in 4.2 innings, while O`Brien allowed two earned runs in her relief appearance.

As Tiffin looks to regroup, they will need to harness their potential and capitalize on scoring opportunities in future games. Meanwhile, North Carolina A&T`s Lauren Hardy showcased her skills with a complete game victory over Queens, and UCLA is gearing up for upcoming challenges against Loyola Marymount and Sacramento State.
