Bulega Blazes Ahead in Superbike Season Opener

Nicolo Bulega leads the Superbike Championship opener, dominating practice sessions at Phillip Island with impressive times.

Nicolo Bulega of Aruba.it Racing - Ducati showcased his dominance on the opening day of the 2025 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in Australia. He topped both Free Practice 1 and Free Practice 2, clocking an impressive 1`28.790s in FP2 to secure the fastest time of the day.

Following Bulega, Andrea Iannone from Team Pata GoEleven claimed second place, finishing 0.406 seconds behind. Alvaro Bautista, also from Aruba.it Racing - Ducati, secured third despite a crash at Turn 4 during FP2, demonstrating resilience and speed. Danilo Petrucci from Barni Spark Racing Team rounded out the top four Ducatis, while Toprak Razgatlioglu of ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team finished fifth overall, overcoming an earlier crash in FP1.

Dominique Aegerter from GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team was the fastest Yamaha rider, finishing sixth overall.
