Severe Thunderstorm in Lidingö

A violent thunderstorm in Lidingö, east of Stockholm, left eight people injured, including three seriously. Barry Levis, the emergency services chief, reported to SVT(tv) that "amateur football players were struck by lightning while seeking shelter under a tree during the storm". "Eight individuals were taken to the hospital, with three suffering serious injuries from the lightning," stated Josefine Bergenholtz-Gröndahl, spokesperson for the Stockholm region.
