Tasmania defeated Victoria in the One Day Cup, while South Australia topped the table with a win over WA.

Tasmania clinched a crucial five-wicket victory against Victoria in the One Day Cup at Bellerive Oval, Hobart. Victoria set a competitive total of 9-266, with Sam Harper contributing a solid 50 runs off 57 balls. However, a mini slump followed his dismissal, despite Tom Rogers` commendable 68 off 70 balls and valuable support from Will Sutherland and Sam Elliott, who scored 30 and 46 not out, respectively.

In response, Tasmania`s chase was spearheaded by Mitchell Owen, who dazzled with a blistering 48 runs off just 19 balls. Caleb Jewell anchored the innings, finishing unbeaten on 105 off 115 balls, including eight fours and three sixes. Although Tasmania missed out on a bonus point by a narrow margin, this victory keeps their slim hopes alive in the tournament. Meanwhile, Victoria`s loss sees them drop to fourth place with 13 points, trailing behind NSW, who are in second place with 16 points.

In another match, South Australia surged to the top of the table with a 44-run win over Western Australia at the WACA Ground. South Australia posted 9-208, with Liam Scott leading the charge with 47 runs. Despite Mahli Beardman’s impressive bowling figures of 4-46, Western Australia faltered, getting bowled out for 164 in just 38.5 overs. This win propels South Australia into prime position to host the final on March 1, while WA languishes at the bottom of the table with only one win.
