Real Salt Lake Acquires Sam Junqua from FC Dallas

:In a significant move during the MLS offseason, Real Salt Lake has acquired defender Sam Junqua from FC Dallas. This trade involves Real Salt Lake sending forward Anderson Julio to FC Dallas in exchange for Junqua and up to $500,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) for the 2025 season.

Anderson Julio, an Ecuadorian forward, had a notable tenure with Real Salt Lake, making 111 appearances and scoring 25 goals over his four seasons with the club. His 2024 season was particularly impressive, with nine goals and three assists, including two braces in wins against Austin FC and FC Dallas.

Sam Junqua, the defender acquired by Real Salt Lake, is expected to bolster the team's defensive lineup. This trade reflects the ongoing efforts by both teams to strengthen their squads ahead of the new season.
