Meanwhile, the University at Albany softball team excelled, shutting out Central Connecticut State University in both games of their doubleheader, with Victoria Vilarchao leading the Great Danes with four RBIs in the first match.
Valparaiso University also had a successful day, sweeping a doubleheader against the University of Illinois at Chicago with scores of 3-2 and 15-3. Carson Kuhlmann made headlines by scoring four runs in the second game, tying a program record. The Southeastern Conference recognized Mya Perez of Texas A&M as the Softball Player of the Week for her outstanding performance, going 11-for-14 over five home games.
