Hampshire League Finale: Moors Shines at Prospect Park

The Hampshire Cross Country League wrapped up its season on January 11, 2025, with the final match held at Prospect Park. The event featured a range of participants across various age categories, showcasing the talent and determination of young athletes and seasoned competitors alike. Unfortunately, the season concluded without the possibility of securing a fifth venue for future events.

In the Under 13 Girls 3k race, Abigail Moors delivered a commendable performance, finishing third with a time of 11:17. The Under 15 Girls 4k saw Jemima Chetwood place sixth in 15:17, while Aggie Magill and Jessica Moors finished 27th and 31st, respectively. The Senior Women 6k race had Rachel Haddow finishing 21st in 26:29, and Nicola Cornes placed 102nd in 44:47.

On the boys' side, Charlie Harrison secured fourth place in the Under 13 Boys 3k with a time of 10:16. Theo Cobley also made his mark by finishing third in the Under 15 Boys 4k, clocking in at 13:16. Oliver Harrison competed in the Under 17 Men 6k, finishing eighth with a time of 22:49. The Senior Men 10k featured Barry Miller in 85th place at 37:37, Jonathan Addison in 114th at 40:56, Simon Fairweather in 134th at 42:51, and Donald Harper in 159th at 46:24.

This event marked the conclusion of the season, highlighting the achievements of the athletes despite the challenges faced in venue arrangements.
