Perth Scorchers Win with Allen`s Half Century

The Perth Scorchers ended 2024 on a high note by securing a convincing seven-wicket victory over the Adelaide Strikers on New Year's Eve. The match was highlighted by a stellar performance from New Zealand international Finn Allen, who scored a brilliant 50 off just 23 balls. This half century, which included three maximums, was crucial in powering the Scorchers to their win.

The Adelaide Strikers had a tumultuous innings, finding themselves at 8-58 before a record-breaking ninth-wicket partnership between Brendan Doggett and Cameron Boyce. Doggett and Boyce put on an impressive 84-run partnership off 60 balls, taking the Strikers' total to 8-142.

Despite the challenging target, the Scorchers' batting lineup proved strong. Cooper Connolly contributed 48 not out, and Ashton Turner added 35 not out, helping to steer the team to victory. This win solidified the Scorchers' position in second place on the BBL ladder.
