Indian squash sensation Anahat Singh, ranked 62nd, delivered a thrilling upset by defeating USA`s Marina Stefanoni, ranked 28th, with a nail-biting score of 3-2 in the first round of the PSA World Championships 2024-2025. The match showcased Singh`s resilience as she battled back from a set down, ultimately clinching victory with scores of 10-12, 11-9, 6-11, 11-6, and 11-6. This remarkable performance has propelled her into the second round of the women`s division.

In another exciting development, Chotrani also advanced to the second round after overcoming a former top-ranked player, adding to the competitive atmosphere of the event. The championships, taking place at the University Club and Lakeshore Sport & Fitness in Chicago from May 9 to May 17, feature a stellar lineup of players, including top-ranked women like Nour ElSherbini and Nouran Gohar, as well as men such as Ali Farag and Mostafa Asal.
