The 2025 CrossFit Games have introduced a new rulebook that significantly alters the qualification process for athletes. To secure a spot in the Games, competitors must register for the CrossFit Open and finish in the top 1% of their division. For age-group athletes, the requirement is to finish in the top 2% within their region during the Open to advance to the In-Affiliate Semifinals. This change emphasizes residency over citizenship, impacting participation in various In-Person Qualifying Events (IPQE) such as the Syndicate Crown, TFX Invitational, and Rebel Renegade Games, which have specific geographic restrictions.

The video review policy for the Open has also been revamped. The previous minor and major penalty designations have been eliminated in favor of a discretionary penalty system based on video reviews. Additionally, CrossFit affiliates can earn rewards, including a $2,500 Rogue Fitness gift card, based on their performance or participation in the Open.

The Semifinals will take place online, requiring athletes to complete workouts at a CrossFit affiliate and submit videos that must be publicly viewable on YouTube. Hosting affiliates must have a head judge with the necessary credentials to oversee the competition. Key dates for finalizing the Semifinal leaderboards are set: April 21 for Age Groups, May 2 for Teams, and May 19 for Individuals. The top 12 men and women from the Semifinals will receive invitations to the CrossFit Games, alongside athletes qualifying through IPQEs. As the competition is still in its preparatory phase, detailed scores or player statistics are not yet available.
