Charlton Athletic vs. Mansfield Town: Struggling Teams Seek Revival

In the upcoming League One match, Charlton Athletic will host Mansfield Town at The Valley on Saturday afternoon, with both teams aiming to break their recent winless streaks. Charlton Athletic, managed by Nathan Jones, have won only one of their last eight third-tier matches and sit 12th in the table. They have struggled for consistency, winning just two of their last 12 league games since the end of September.

Mansfield Town, under the guidance of Nigel Clough, have also been in poor form, failing to win any of their last six league games and losing their last five matches. Despite a strong start to their first League One campaign in 22 years, the Stags now find themselves 10th in the standings, seven points behind the playoff spots.

Charlton will be assessing the fitness of several injured players, including Kayne Ramsay, Chuks Aneke, Zach Mitchell, and Conor Coventry, ahead of the match. Nathan Jones is expected to revert to a stronger lineup after making nine changes in their midweek EFL Trophy match.

Mansfield will be without top scorer Lee Gregory and Ben Quinn due to injuries, but Hiram Boateng is available after serving a suspension. The match is crucial for both teams as they seek to end their poor runs of form and gain momentum during the festive period.

Top Players:
- Charlton Athletic: Macaulay Gillesphey, Terry Taylor, Tyreece Campbell, Daniel Kanu, Matt Godden
- Mansfield Town: Hiram Boateng
