Major League Soccer sees significant transfers, including Atlanta United`s record signing of Emmanuel Latte Lath and Omar Gonzalez joining Chicago Fire FC.

Minnesota United has made a significant move by signing South Korean midfielder Hoyeon Jung from Gwangju FC on a three-year contract, extending through December 2027, with an option for 2028. Jung will occupy an international roster spot pending the receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Chicago Fire FC has bolstered their defense by signing free-agent Omar Gonzalez, a seasoned 36-year-old former US international, through 2025 with an option for 2026. Gonzalez brings a wealth of experience, having played in 291 MLS regular-season games and won multiple accolades, including three MLS Cups and two Supporters` Shields.

In a groundbreaking move, Atlanta United has shattered the league record for the largest inbound transfer fee by acquiring Ivorian striker Emmanuel Latte Lath from Middlesbrough for a reported $22 million plus add-ons. This signing is part of a broader strategy to revamp the squad, marking one of the five most expensive signings in MLS history.

Sporting Kansas City has also been active in the transfer market, securing key signings such as Spanish No. 10 Manu García and Russian winger Shapi Suleymanov from Aris Thessaloniki, along with Serbian striker Dejan Joveljic from LA Galaxy, spending a total of $9 million in transfer fees.
