Day 3 of the 2025 Welsh Open delivered thrilling action as several top players faced early exits. Mark Williams, the last Welsh winner of the title in 1999, was eliminated by Stephen Maguire with a score of 4-2. Maguire`s decisive break of 54 in the sixth frame proved crucial, allowing him to advance to the last 16 where he will meet Sanderson Lam.

Neil Robertson also faced disappointment, narrowly losing to Tom Ford 4-3. After a remarkable comeback from 3-0 down to level the match, Robertson fell short as Ford clinched the deciding frame with a stunning break of 131.
