Madeline Joiner of Emporia State showcased her exceptional skills by winning the individual championship at the Florida Collegiate Disc Golf Classic in Brooksville, Florida. Dominating the competition, Joiner was the only player to finish under par, achieving an impressive score of -6 over the challenging 20 holes of the Olympus Disc Golf Course. Her performance was remarkable, finishing nine strokes ahead of her closest competitors, Lily Marr from Milligan and Zion White from Trinity Western University.

In addition to Joiner`s stellar performance, Atlanta Krueger, ranked 1 in the country, had a challenging start but rallied to finish fourth with a score of +4, shooting -3 over her last 15 holes. Other notable finishes included May Ringgold in eighth place at +8 and Rebekah Thompson in ninth at +9. Grace Watson tied for 13th at +15, while Avangelena Campbell finished 16th with a score of +52. The Emporia State team, featuring both Joiner and Krueger, leads the team competition by seven strokes over Clemson and TWU Black as they head into the final round.

Meanwhile, the Memorial Championship presented by Discraft took place in Scottsdale, Arizona, from January 16 to 19, 2025. This event attracted a competitive field of both professional and amateur players, featuring categories such as Mixed Pro Open (MPO) and Mixed Amateur 1 (MA1). Noteworthy players in the MPO category included Eagle McMahon, Noah Meintsma, and Ezra Aderhold, while the MA1 category saw competitors like Braden Neff and Sam Richardson. The tournament was directed by Keith Murray and Ashley Akens, ensuring a well-organized and thrilling event for all participants.
