Penn State women`s lacrosse dominated Bucknell 16-4, led by Kelly MacKinney`s seven points and strong team performance.

Penn State women`s lacrosse team showcased a dominant performance, securing a 16-4 victory against Bucknell in their second outing of the 2025 season. Sophomore Kelly MacKinney led the charge with an impressive seven points, including one goal and six assists, extending her goal streak to five games and her assist streak to 12 consecutive games.

Redshirt junior Elise Smigiel also made headlines, achieving a career-best with four points from a hat trick and an assist. Other contributors included senior Brooke Hoss, junior Emma Kelly, redshirt freshman Minka Martinez, and freshman Ellie Wisch, all of whom recorded multi-point outings. In the circle, junior Erika Ho excelled with seven draw controls, while sophomore Sydney Manning made five saves, allowing just one goal.

The Nittany Lions set the tone early, with Wisch scoring just 2:40 into the match. They dominated the second quarter, outscoring Bucknell 11-1, and continued their strong performance with a 13-2 advantage in the third quarter. The final quarter saw Penn State secure a 2-1 edge, concluding the game with a commanding 16-4 scoreline.

Key highlights include Penn State`s all-time record against Bucknell improving to 22-0-0, MacKinney surpassing 50 career points, and Hoss nearing 75 career goals. The team won 20 draw controls compared to Bucknell`s four. Looking ahead, Penn State will face its first road test against Saint Joseph`s on February 15.

In contrast, Pitt women`s lacrosse faced a tough 14-11 loss to Arizona State, despite Jenna Hendrickson`s standout performance.
