Jacksonville`s LaMond clinched an overtime win against St. John`s, while East Carolina narrowly lost to Coastal Carolina.

Jacksonville University`s men`s lacrosse team showcased their resilience with an exhilarating 11-10 overtime victory against St. John`s on February 28, 2025. Ethan LaMond emerged as the hero, scoring the decisive goal in overtime, which marked Jacksonville`s third consecutive win. The game unfolded dramatically, with St. John`s initially taking control before Jacksonville surged back with five straight goals, establishing a 9-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

However, St. John`s rallied, scoring four consecutive goals to take a 10-9 lead. Just when it seemed Jacksonville would fall short, Daylin John-Hill stepped up to tie the game at 10-10 with just over a minute remaining in regulation, setting the stage for LaMond`s overtime heroics.

In another nail-biting encounter, East Carolina faced Coastal Carolina on March 1, 2025, but fell short in a 15-14 overtime loss. Coastal Carolina started strong with a 5-0 run, but East Carolina fought back with a 7-2 run to close the gap. Despite their valiant efforts, the Pirates could not clinch the win in overtime.
