England`s cricket team arrives in Kolkata for T20I series against India, led by Jos Buttler, ahead of Champions Trophy.

England`s cricket team has landed in Kolkata, gearing up for their T20I series opener against India on January 22. Led by Jos Buttler, the squad arrived after training in Dubai, with all-rounder Liam Livingstone being the first to check in, having flown directly from South Africa. This five-match T20I series will kick off at the iconic Eden Gardens, followed by matches in Chennai, Rajkot, Pune, and concluding in Mumbai on February 2.

This series serves as a vital warm-up for the upcoming Champions Trophy, set to commence on February 19 in Pakistan and Dubai. The England team is scheduled for three training sessions before the first match, with an afternoon practice on Sunday, while Team India will take the field in the evening. The England squad is also seeking clarity from the ECB regarding the issuance of NOCs for players selected for the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

As the series unfolds, England faces a formidable Indian side led by Suryakumar Yadav in T20Is and Rohit Sharma in ODIs. The ODIs are slated to take place in Nagpur, Cuttack, and Ahmedabad from February 6 to 12. The Cricket Association of Bengal anticipates a full-capacity crowd for the Eden Gardens opener, which last hosted a T20I on February 20, 2022. A special ceremony will honor the Under-15 women`s champions and the senior women`s team, with former India captain Mithali Raj as the chief guest.
