India has made history at the Kho Kho World Cup 2025 held in New Delhi, clinching the championship titles for both the men`s and women`s teams. Under the leadership of captain Pratik Waikar, the men`s team showcased remarkable speed and strategy, while the women`s team, featuring standout player Nasreen Shaikh, displayed exceptional skill throughout the tournament.

The competition saw participation from 23 nations, with India emerging as a dominant force in the finals. The transition of kho kho from outdoor grassy fields to indoor mats has significantly boosted its profile, making it the third most-watched non-cricket sports tournament in India, following the Pro Kabaddi League and the Indian Super League football competition.
