The Kansas City Wide Open and UCM`s new disc golf course highlight the growing excitement in the sport.

The Blaine Whitworth Disc Golf Course at the University of Central Missouri (UCM) was officially dedicated on April 12, 2025. This new 18-hole layout, located at 820 S. Holden St., is expected to enhance the local disc golf community with future amenities such as shelter houses. However, no competitive results have been reported from this venue yet.

As the excitement builds, the 43rd Kansas City Wide Open, a prestigious Disc Golf Pro Tour Elite Series Event, is scheduled to take place from April 18 to 20, 2025, at Bad Rock Creek Disc Golf Course in Liberty, Missouri. Past champions Gannon Buhr and Drew Gibson, who claimed the MPO titles in 2023 and 2024 respectively, will be looking to defend their legacies. As of now, live scores and standings are not available, but anticipation is high for the competition`s start.

Additionally, the First Capital Open 2025 is listed on the PDGA calendar, although results and player statistics remain unpublished. As the disc golf community gears up for these events, fans are eager to see how the players will perform in the upcoming competitions.
