Canada`s alpine ski team prepares for the 2025 Junior Worlds, while athletes excel in the World Cup circuit.
Alpine Canada has unveiled the team set to represent the nation at the 2025 FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships in Tarvisio, Italy, from February 27 to March 6. This talented squad features 13 athletes under 21, selected based on their world rankings and performances in the Nor-Am Series. Among the eight returning athletes are Amélie Bourgeois, Andreea Nicolici, and Gered Thompson, alongside five promising newcomers. The team will be guided by coaches Marie-Eve Boulianne, Urban Planisek, and team leader Jennifer Stielow.
On the World Cup circuit, Canadian athletes are making their mark. Valérie Grenier leads the Canadian GS squad, currently ranked 12th, despite missing the season opener in Sölden. Britt Richardson has achieved a career-best seventh place in Kronplatz, while Cassidy Gray continues to contribute valuable points, holding the 41st rank. Justine Lamontagne is set to join the Canadian roster in Sestriere, aiming to gain crucial experience at the World Cup level. The Sestriere World Cup GS, scheduled for February 21, will see these athletes face off against elite international competitors, making it a pivotal event in the race for the Nations Cup and the Crystal Globe.
