His only defeat came against Mark Selby, who dominated the group with a perfect record of five wins. In the semi-finals, Wilson narrowly edged out Ali Carter with a 3-2 victory, while Jones secured his place in the final by defeating Mark Selby 3-1.

Notable matches in the group included Wilson's earlier victory over Jones, where he won 3-1, and Selby's commanding 3-0 win against Chris Wakelin.
