Ireland`s golf team shines with a dominant win over Austria, showcasing talent and teamwork at the European Championship.

In a thrilling display of skill and teamwork, Ireland triumphed over Austria with a commanding 4.0-1.0 victory on Day 2 of the Match Play Stage in Flight B at the 42nd European Men’s Amateur Team Championship. The prestigious Killarney Golf & Fishing Club served as the backdrop for this epic showdown, where Seán Keeling and Hugh Foley showcased their prowess by winning their Foursomes match decisively at 5&4. The momentum continued as Max Kennedy, Caolan Rafferty, and Liam Nolan each secured singles victories, solidifying Ireland`s strong position in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Wales edged past Scotland in a nail-biting contest, finishing 3.0-2.0. The match featured intense moments, with James Ashfield and Matt Roberts clinching their Singles games, demonstrating the fierce competitiveness of the championship. Denmark also made headlines by defeating Scotland 3.5-1.5, with Connor Graham providing Scotland`s lone singles win.

In the stroke play qualifying rounds, England emerged as a force, finishing 5th with a remarkable -19 score, while Ireland (-11), Scotland (-1, and Wales (+3) moved to Flight B. Jerry Ji from the Netherlands dazzled with a 130 (-14) total, including 15 birdies over 36 holes, claiming the individual stroke play title. In women’s golf, 21-year-old Lottie Woad shone at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, finishing at 21-under and soaring up the Rolex Women’s Golf Rankings.
