Atule Shines as Enyimba Defeats Nasarawa United

Joseph Atule is making waves in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and the CAF Confederation Cup with his recent performances for Enyimba. After battling injuries earlier in the season, Atule has returned to the starting lineup and is proving to be a key player for his team. He played a pivotal role in Enyimba's recent 2-1 victory over Nasarawa United, scoring the opener and assisting Brown Ideye for the winning goal. This match marked Enyimba's first NPFL win since October 2024.

Atule's contributions extend beyond the domestic league; he also showcased his talent in the CAF Confederation Cup, where he scored twice and assisted Ideye in a commanding 4-1 victory against Black Bulls of Mozambique. His ability to complete 90 minutes in both matches highlights his recovery and importance to the squad. Atule expressed gratitude to God and the coaching staff for their faith in him, emphasizing the significance of scoring goals for the club's ambitions. He also aspires to represent the Super Eagles B team in future competitions.

Enyimba has two more rescheduled games in the NPFL and is set to host Al Masry of Egypt in Uyo on Sunday, where Atule will look to continue his impressive form.

In other news, El-Kanemi Warriors forward Ibrahim Mustapha is on a quest to become the top scorer in the 2024-25 NPFL season. With eight goals to his name, he trails the current leader, Anas Yusuf of Nasarawa United, who has netted 11 goals. Mustapha is focused on consistent practice, honing his positioning and making the right runs to achieve his scoring goals.
