'I'm not scared to die' - Lawrence

After receiving a motor neurone disease diagnosis, former England and Gloucestershire fast bowler David "Syd" Lawrence claims he is "up for the fight" and is not afraid of dying (MND).
The 60-year-old received an external disease diagnosis earlier this year. There is no known treatment for the uncommon, degenerative illness that affects the brain and nerves.
Former Scotland rugby union front Doddie Weir passed away in November 2022, six years after receiving a diagnosis, while former England and Leeds rugby league player Rob Burrow also died from the illness earlier this year.
