Dodgers Sign Kim, Trade Lux, Boost 2025 Roster

The Los Angeles Dodgers have made significant moves this offseason, enhancing their roster for the upcoming 2025 season. A key highlight is the signing of South Korean infielder Hyeseong Kim to a three-year deal valued at $12.5 million, which includes a club option that could extend the contract to five years and $22 million. Kim, a former All-Star second baseman with the Kiwoom Heroes in the KBO, was drawn to the Dodgers due to his admiration for past Korean players like Park Chan-ho and Ryu Hyun-jin, as well as the team's recent success in winning the World Series.

In a strategic move, the Dodgers traded second baseman Gavin Lux to the Cincinnati Reds. Lux, who has been with the Dodgers since his debut and contributed to their championship teams in 2020 and 2024, will bring versatility to the Reds' lineup. In return, the Dodgers received minor league outfielder Mike Sirota and a competitive balance draft pick, further shaping their future roster.

The Dodgers have also bolstered their pitching rotation by adding left-hander Blake Snell, who will join the likes of Shohei Ohtani this season. Additionally, the team has re-signed closer Blake Treinen and outfielder Teoscar Hernández, while extending utility starter Tommy Edman. These strategic acquisitions have earned the Dodgers an 'A' grade for their offseason efforts, solidifying their status as one of the premier teams in baseball.

With the highest projected win total of 103.5 for the upcoming season, the Dodgers are poised for another successful campaign. Despite missing out on star player Juan Soto, who signed with the New York Mets, the team's recent additions have significantly enhanced their chances of competing for another championship.
