Max Verstappen clinched his first victory of the 2025 Formula 1 season at the Japanese Grand Prix on April 6, 2025. Driving for Red Bull, Verstappen started from pole position after an impressive qualifying lap, narrowly edging out McLaren`s Lando Norris by just 0.012 seconds. Throughout the race, Verstappen successfully defended against fierce competition from both Norris and teammate Oscar Piastri, ultimately securing his fourth consecutive win at the iconic Suzuka Circuit.
This victory brings Verstappen within striking distance of Norris in the drivers` standings, with 61 points to Norris`s 62. The battle for the championship is heating up as the season progresses, with the next race scheduled for April 13, 2025, at the Bahrain International Circuit. In the Constructors` Championship, McLaren leads with 111 points, followed by Mercedes with 75 points and Red Bull at 61 points.
