Vladimir Fedoseev has taken an early lead in the Superbet Rapid & Blitz Poland 2025, part of the prestigious Grand Chess Tour. After the first day of competition, Fedoseev boasts an impressive score of 5/6. Hot on his heels are rising stars Alireza Firouzja and Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu, each with a score of 4/6.

This thrilling tournament is being held at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw, showcasing not only top-tier chess but also the rich cultural heritage of Poland. The event features a substantial prize fund of $175,000 for both the Rapid and Blitz formats, with the top three prizes set at $40,000, $30,000, and $25,000, respectively.

In addition to the Superbet event, the First Saturday IM April 2025 Chess Championship in Budapest saw FIDE Master Ivan Travis Cu from the Philippines finish as a runner-up, adding to the excitement of the chess calendar. Furthermore, the 3rd B1 Mall Rapid Chess Tournament is scheduled for April 27, 2025, promising prizes for the top five players and special trophies for outstanding female and under-14 competitors.
