This remarkable feat in the Chess960 format left his closest competitors, GMs Andrey Esipenko and Rauf Mamedov, trailing by a full point before the final rounds. Carlsen`s dominance was evident as he secured victories in all rounds, including a crucial time-pressure win against GM Parham Maghsoodloo in round seven.

In parallel, the FIDE Women’s Grand Prix in Pune saw GM Humpy Koneru take the lead after defeating GM Zhu Jiner, with two rounds remaining. Zhu had earlier showcased her tactical prowess by overcoming GM Tan Zhongyi and defeating GM Vaishali Rameshbabu in a thrilling Sicilian game.
