Prescod and Neita claimed sprint titles at the UK Athletics Championships, showcasing strong performances ahead of European Indoor Championships.

Reece Prescod and Daryll Neita emerged victorious in the men’s and women’s 60m events at the UK Athletics Championships held at Alexander Stadium in Birmingham on February 22-23, 2025. Prescod clocked an impressive 6.53 seconds, narrowly defeating Eugene Amo-Dadzie, who finished in 6.55 seconds. Neita secured her title with a time of 7.09 seconds, besting Asha Philip and Imani Lansiquot.

In the middle-distance races, Josh Kerr showcased his dominance in the men’s 1500m, finishing in 3:38.24, while Laura Muir claimed the women’s title with a time of 43.87. The high jump saw Tom Gale clear 2.30m for gold, and Morgan Lake took the women’s event with a leap of 1.96m. Katarina Johnson-Thompson excelled in the pentathlon, scoring 4,929 points, ahead of Holly Mills.

Scott Lincoln triumphed in the men’s shot put with a throw of 20.23m, while Sophie McKinna won the women’s event at 18.82m. The championships served as trials for the upcoming European Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, from March 6-9, with many winners securing spots on the British team. The event attracted around 12,000 spectators, creating an electric atmosphere at the newly renovated Alexander Stadium.
