The UWS Winter Blast Tournament highlights pickleball`s growth, attracting over 100 players and supporting local facilities.

Pickleball is surging in popularity across the United States, exemplified by the recent 2nd annual Winter Blast Pickleball Tournament hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Superior`s tennis team in collaboration with the Duluth Area Pickleball Association (DAPA). The event attracted over 100 players from diverse regions, including the Twin Cities and Thunder Bay, showcasing the sport`s growing appeal.

Held at the Lydia C. Thering Fieldhouse on the UWS campus, the tournament not only aimed to raise funds for additional pickleball courts in the area but also supported the UWS tennis team`s upcoming spring break trip. This initiative addresses the pressing need for more facilities to accommodate the increasing number of pickleball enthusiasts.

In Miami, the Grove Pickles and Miami Firefighters Benevolent Association organized a pickleball tournament and wellness fair, featuring 16 teams and offering health screenings to promote wellness awareness. This event further highlights the sport`s community impact and its role in fostering health and fitness.
