Jemimah Rodrigues Shines in India`s ODI Victory

India's women's cricket team showcased an impressive performance in the second ODI against Ireland in Rajkot, achieving their highest-ever total of 370/5. This remarkable feat was highlighted by Jemimah Rodrigues, who scored her maiden international century, contributing 102 runs to the team's total. Her outstanding performance not only led India to a commanding 116-run victory but also propelled her to a career-high 19th position in the ICC Women's ODI rankings with 563 points, surpassing New Zealand's Suzie Bates.

Smriti Mandhana, stepping in as captain due to Harmanpreet Kaur's injury, also played a crucial role in the match, maintaining her third place in the rankings with 723 points. The rankings are currently led by South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt, who holds the top spot with 773 points, followed by Sri Lanka's Chamari Athapaththu.

In addition to Rodrigues and Mandhana, Harleen Deol made significant contributions to the team's total and advanced seven places to 47th in the batting rankings. Pratika Rawal also made a notable impact, climbing 52 places to 65th after scoring 89 and 67 in the series.

With two victories over Ireland, India has accumulated 35 points from 23 matches in the ICC Women's Championship. Australia has already secured the championship with 39 points from 24 matches, while England, South Africa, and Sri Lanka have ensured their spots in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025. New Zealand and Bangladesh are still vying for the final direct qualification spot.

On the men's side, Team India is yet to finalize their squad for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, with concerns surrounding the fitness of key players Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav. The selectors face tough decisions regarding the inclusion of players like Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav, with KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant likely to be the primary wicketkeeper and batter options.
