Sindhu Stumbles, Kiran George Shines in Badminton Circuit

Sindhu falters while Kiran George shines; Indian badminton faces ups and downs in recent tournaments.

In a whirlwind of action across the badminton landscape, PV Sindhu faced an unexpected setback, bowing out in the second round of the Asia Championships. Meanwhile, Kiran George showcased his mettle, advancing further in the tournament, a bright spot amid mixed results for the Indian contingent. Lakshya Sen and Prannoy, both promising talents, exited early, with Sen also falling in the quarterfinals of the China Masters.

The doubles duo of Satwik-Chirag emerged as a beacon of hope, storming into the semifinals of the China Masters with impressive performances that left fans on the edge of their seats. Adding to the excitement, Anupama Upadhyaya pulled off a stunning upset by defeating veteran Beiwen Zhang, marking her presence on the international stage. Coach Kim Her has made a return to Indian badminton, aiming to elevate the players` performances and instill a winning mentality.

Sindhu found redemption at the Kumamoto Masters, advancing through the rounds, although Lakshya Sen`s journey ended prematurely there as well. Kiran George`s impressive run at the Korea Masters concluded in the semifinals against Kunlavut Vitidsarn. As the Indian players navigate these pivotal tournaments, the upcoming BWF Tour Super 100 event in Cuttack from December 9 to 14, 2025, looms large, promising another chance for glory.
