St. John Fisher Eyes Lacrosse Championships Glory

St. John Fisher pursues titles in both the Empire 8 Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Championships, showcasing strong records.

Several lacrosse championships are heating up across the United States, with St. John Fisher University prominently in the spotlight. The 2025 Empire 8 Men’s Lacrosse Championship runs from April 29 to May 3, where St. John Fisher aims for its sixth consecutive title. With a flawless 9-0 record in the Empire 8 and an overall 13-4 record, they are the top seed. The first round features SUNY Geneseo hosting Alfred University and Hartwick College taking on SUNY Brockport on April 29. Semifinals are set for May 1, culminating in the championship game on May 3.

On the women’s side, St. John Fisher is also on a quest for its 13th straight title in the 2025 Empire 8 Women’s Lacrosse Championship. They boast an impressive 16-0 overall record and are ranked sixth nationally. First-round matchups include SUNY Brockport hosting Utica University and Nazareth University facing Hartwick College, both on April 29. Semifinals will follow on May 1, leading to the championship on May 3.

Additionally, the 2025 PSAC Lacrosse Tournament has begun, with Lock Haven competing against Seton Hill in the quarterfinals. Lock Haven finished the regular season with a 9-7 overall record and a 6-4 mark in the PSAC West. The winner will face undefeated West Chester on May 2. The CCIW Women’s Lacrosse Championship has also kicked off, featuring Carthage hosting Illinois Wesleyan in the semifinals.
