Burns to represent Italy in tribute to late bro

In remembrance of his late brother, former Australia Test opener Joe Burns will play for Italy in their quest to qualify for the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Burns, who played 23 Test matches for Australia between 2014 and 2020, lost his brother Dominic in February of this year.

Despite being registered with Queensland State since 2011, the 34-year-old has not received a contract offer for the Australian domestic season of 2024–2025.
