
Dahlia Trippel led the charge for the Patriots with a game-high four goals and an assist. Daniella Jimenez contributed significantly with three goals and three assists, while Catherine Pollard added three goals and two assists. Giselle Torain was a standout on defense, leading the team with five ground balls.
Mason jumped to a 5-2 lead after the first quarter and extended their advantage to 10-3 at halftime, thanks to a five-goal second quarter. Gardner-Webb struggled offensively, failing to score in the third quarter as Mason`s defense tightened, forcing 15 turnovers and winning crucial ground ball battles. Regan Bestick made three saves in goal for the Patriots, marking her second victory of the season. Emma Anderson recorded four saves for Gardner-Webb.
George Mason will continue their homestand with a midweek matchup against regional rival American on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 4 p.m., featuring free admission and a broadcast available on ESPN+. In the Big South Conference standings, Mercer leads with an 8-0 record, followed by High Point and Furman.
