The U13 boys` race saw Khalif Ali shine, finishing 4th with a time of 8.19 minutes, which keeps him in 2nd place overall in the series. His teammates Elias Furreedan and Hashim Khan finished 7th and 8th, clocking in at 9.14 minutes and 9.21 minutes, respectively. Daniel Guiba rounded out the team with an 11th place finish at 10.31 minutes. The U13 girls also had a strong showing, with debutant Sophie Lawes leading the team in 10th place at 9.33 minutes, followed by Iris Wan, Alicia Adams, and D.L. Majen-Akande.
In the U15 category, Fabio Reina and Barney Perkins dominated, finishing 1st and 2nd with times of 18.59 minutes and 20.19 minutes, respectively. Hawaa Patel finished 4th in the U15 girls` race with a time of 24.53 minutes. Ryder Islam secured 4th place in the U17 boys with a time of 18.51 minutes, maintaining his position in the overall series.
On the senior front, two Ilford Athletic Club athletes participated in the Benfleet 15 Miles Multi-Terrain Race on January 19, 2025. Christopher King finished 59th with a time of 1 hour 53 minutes and 19 seconds, while Terry Knightley placed 140th with a time of 2 hours 4 minutes and 46 seconds, also achieving 4th place in the Male Veteran Over 60 category.
Looking ahead, England Athletics has announced upcoming events, including the Reykjavik international competitions and the 2025 Armagh International Road Races.
