The Clayton Spring Classic 2025 features top riders like Tom Martin and Sam Walsham in a thrilling season opener.

The Clayton Spring Classic Handicap 2025 is set to kick off the Northern England road racing season on February 23 in Lancashire. Sponsored by PM+M, this highly anticipated event features a competitive field with only one reserve, showcasing a handicap format for all categories. The E/1 category will serve as the scratch group, and riders will tackle 15 laps of the challenging 3.9-mile Bashall Eaves circuit.

Notable participants include Tom Martin, who secured third place in the 2024 edition, and John Bardsley, who finished fourth last year. Sam Walsham, the previous winner of the 2/3/4 race at Otley, and Matthew Webster, a remarkable 12-time winner of BC races in 2024, will also be in contention. Other prominent riders include Megan Lloyd from Liv Cycling Club – Halo Films, Kim Baptista, Kevin Dennison from Otley CC, and Simon Deplitch from Merlin Cycles Rivington Brew Co.
