Australia A Women lead the unofficial Test against England A Women, with Issy Wong`s stellar bowling performance.

Australia A Women and England A Women are currently engaged in a multi-format series, showcasing emerging talent in women`s cricket. The series kicked off with a three-match T20 series, where England A clinched victory with a 1-0 win after rain disrupted the last two matches. The ODI series followed, with Australia A bouncing back to secure a 2-1 triumph.

The final leg of the series is a four-day unofficial Test in Sydney. On the opening day, Australia A chose to bat but faced early challenges, slipping to 50 for 3. Issy Wong was the standout bowler for England A, claiming four wickets for 57 runs, including the scalps of Maddy Darke and Anika Learoyd. Despite the initial setbacks, Australia A regrouped and ended the day at 315 for 7, with Rachel Trenaman leading the charge with a solid 77, supported by half-centuries from Charli Knott and Nicole Faltum.

Meanwhile, England Women are gearing up for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in India later this year under the guidance of new head coach Charlotte Edwards, aiming to bounce back after a disappointing Ashes tour where they lost all seven matches.
